Le Divorce is a popular movie produced in the year 2003 directed by James Ivory. The screenplay was written by Ruth Jhabvala, based on Diane Johnson’s best-selling novel by the same name.
The story is a romantic comedy where the central character (Kate Hudson) plays the role of an American “Isabel Walker” who is supposed to visit her sister in Paris.
The sister’s husband is about to leave her for his Russian girlfriend (who is apparently married).
To add to the complication, Isabel starts two affairs with 2 French guys of 2 different social classes. The film revolves around Isabel’s sister’s (Roxy) fight with her
estranged husband over the French community property laws and ownership rights.
